Franz Tihany passed long and difficult way from mere circus staff worker to owner of the net of supermarkets
in Florida and circuses. And what another could jewish boy, who was born in Serbia have?
Fortunately, he survived in a war and as I have said before, when he was a little boy he worked as a circus staff worker,
helped to place jugglers' properties and at that time he didn't waste time, watched at jugglers, learning their secrets.
When he became a little bit older, he started to make experiments and show simple tricks, and also create
new ones, and at the end he achieved master skills in this field.
And now he is an owner of huge six-mast shapito, what you can see at photo above. In the foreground of this photo
there is my father. There are a lot of pavillions with cafes and VIP-halls, neat marked pathes, painted in white colour
fences. In the tent itself instead of usual circus ring there is stage and, probably, the concert hall "Russia" will
envy the quantity of light sets of this stage. People can rise up thi stage on glass stairs an to glass stairs stand
on each side of the stage. The stage is separated from inside facilities, in particular from make-up
rooms of those artists, who don't live on circus territory, but in a hotel by a luxurious curtain (scene workers
change this curtain almost for each programme) and a lot of talently made decorations. In general, in circus Tihany
much attention are given to the design of the scene. If we look at the scaled "rome scene", we will see decoration
of Colisei tribunes, where artists in its luxurious costumes rise up: an emperor himself with his wife and their retinue.
And artist, who left at the scene, play in the face of pseudo-emperor a magnificent action as: struggle of a slave
and tiger, scene of a battle on swords, caoutchouc and trick of illusion with a torture of a slave: he is pulled down
on the sword
When the scene ends, artist, who agreed to play a slave, he stands and everybody, including the emperor
and his wife stand up. After it the decoration of tribunes turns over and appears a cascade.
This scene is really wonderful. You need see it. But it's impossible to see it, if, course, Tihany changed his mind and
put it into the spectacular again. There a lot of dances. I should think so! There fourty people in ballet!
But everything will be a beautiful sprangle, but for exellent director's work, staging of illusion tricks and an acting
of Tihany himself and his successor, Richard Massone, who is also the arena's inspector. The siplest trick
becomes interesting for spectators because of its presentation.
Espesially good this particularity of the Tihany Spectacular you can see on an example of trick when Massone cut
woman's head with a big saw and then replace this head into another bed-side table, on an example of trick
with a child and duck. In the last trick, the duck itself is intersted, which can behave absolutely unpredictably
(Richard put her into a box and going to teach a boy from the audience an art of transportation of things in a distance,
but before he began to show his mastership, duck runs away and he with a boy try to catch her at the stage. And each time
the duck ply new prank!). And it was my father, who worked in this circus. Becides, it was here, when Kesha begin
to enter the stage herself. My father appears at the stage only when she waits for him to get a deserved sweet.
